Delete your KAPTU account

This page explains how to request deletion of your account and related data for KAPTU (the vocabulary learning app by the KAPTU developer, package com.hongviet.kaptu). Deletion is available in the app and by email.
How to delete your account in the KAPTU app
1. Open the KAPTU app and sign in. 2. Go to your profile, then open Settings (gear icon). 3. Tap Delete account. 4. Read the confirmation, type your username to confirm, and tap the confirm button. 5. KAPTU will permanently delete your account. You will be signed out when the process finishes.
How to request deletion by email
If you cannot open the app, email hongviet.xyz@gmail.com from the email address linked to your KAPTU account. Include your KAPTU username and ask to delete your KAPTU account. We only process full account deletion this way — not partial data deletion while keeping the account. We aim to complete a verified request within 30 days.
Data that is deleted
When your KAPTU account is deleted, we delete or anonymise personal data associated with that account, including: your profile (email, username, profile photo, optional phone number, bio, language preferences); vocabulary cards and photos you created; chat messages and group activity tied to your account; friend connections and related social data; optional location data used for “People nearby”; push notification tokens; and local app data on the device after you sign out / reinstall as applicable. Photos stored for your account in our cloud storage folders are removed as part of account deletion.
Data that may be retained
Some records may be retained when the law or the app stores require it: • Purchase and subscription records managed by Google Play, the Apple App Store, and RevenueCat (we do not store your payment card numbers). • Limited security, abuse-prevention, or legal logs that we are required to keep, retained only as long as needed for those purposes. • Aggregated or anonymised analytics that no longer identify you. App store billing history remains under the store’s own policies and retention periods.
No partial data deletion without closing the account
KAPTU does not offer a separate request to delete some or all of your data while keeping your account. To remove your data from KAPTU, delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account) using the steps above.
